Organiser

The 13th World Advanced Aerobatic Championship 2018 will be organised by the Romanian Aeroclub and the Romanian Aeronautical Federation. It will take place under the auspices of the FAI – Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
The operational organiser is the Romanian Aeroclub (Bulevardul Lascăr Catargiu nr. 54, sector 1, București).

Place and date

The event will take place at Strejnic – LRPW, „Gheorghe Valentin Bibescu” Airport, near Ploiești, located in the southern part of Romania. The airfield is situated 5km west from the town centre of Ploiești, which in turn is located 60km north of Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

The event will take place: from 15th of August until 25th of August 2018.

Standard Daily Schedule

Official working hours of the Contest Office and Organisers will be from 08.00 until 18:00 or half an hour after the landing of the last competitor, whatever comes later.
The above mentioned hours are valid for official inquiries, information or claims/protest concerning the contest effective only for it’s duration.
All stated times are in local time format (LT=UTC+3 hrs).
The Schedule may suffer modifications due to technical and organisational reasons or weather conditions.

Rules

The 13th World Advanced Aerobatic Championship will be conducted according to the following rules:
 FAI Sporting Code – General Section,
 FAI Sporting Code – Section 6 Part 1,
 Flight Rules published by the Romanian CAA,
 Local Regulations (will published during the Opening Briefing)

Participants

All FAI member National Airsport Controler’s (NAC) may be represented at the 13th World Advanced Aerobatic Championship – 2018 by the team and/or individual competitors/observers.
Entries will be accepted from NAC only according to FAI Sporting Code, Section 6 Part 1.
Each competitor has to be a holder of:
 a valid Pilot License with an aerobatic extension according to competitor’s national legislation and contest category,
 a valid Medical Certificate,
 a valid FAI Sporting Licence,

Aircraft

All participating aircraft must satisfy the performance criteria essential for advanced category competition flights.
For all competing aircraft a valid Certificate of Airworthiness of the related country must be presented with all other documents, which are required to being airworthy.
For all competing aircraft using the Romanian airspace, Third Party Liability insurance must be concluded with respect to damage caused by operation of that aircraft to third parties covering a minimum amount in SDR (Special Drawing Rights) or in equivalent value of any other freely convertible currencies, for the aircraft with MTOW as mentioned below:
 MTOW up to 1000 kg 1.500.000 SDR (approx. 1.800.000 EUR)
 MTOW above 1000 kg to 2700 kg 3.000.000 SDR (approx. 3.600.000 EUR)
Each competing aircraft must be insured against 3rd Party Public Liability, according to EU Regulation (EC) No. 785/2004, claims with a minimum amount as mentioned above according to MTOW. Aircraft arriving in Romania must be able to present their insurance policy with a copy in English, certified by the Insurance Company.
The Technical Committee will check all the documents. Acceptance of the application will be decided considering these documents. The decision of Technical Committee will be final.
Several pilots can fly with one aircraft.
Limited hangar space for competing aircraft will be available for the duration of the Championship, free of charge.
In case of insufficient hangar capacity, priority will be given to those whose entry fee payment is confirmed by the Organiser, in order of confirmation. Priority will be given to aircraft of wooden contruction, followed by composite and lastly metallic built.
Fuel AVGAS 100 LL & Oil AeroShell W100, AeroShell W120, 15W50 will be supplied by the Organiser.
